50th Birthday Butterfly Card

A card for a work colleague's wife who will be 50 this weekend. I have used a fab butterfly stamp which I stamped onto some beautiful DCWV paper from the Citrus pack. I did this twice and decoupaged one on top the other. I added some wire and pearls for the atennae and some pearls for the body. I used matching papers from the pack for the backing papers. A few red gems and some faux stitching finished the card off.

I have entered this into the following challenge
Paper Sundaes - something with wings

That Stamp Again!

Another card using my fav stamp at the moment. I had cut the image out using a nestie die and was left with the aperture. It was just sitting on my desk and had got pushed over the image slightly and that gave me the idea of using it as a frame. I stamped around the edge of it with the tree stamp and inked the edges with distress inks. The paper is from my scrap box and I layered up with some brown and cream brazil cardstock. I raised the frame using foam pads to give a bit of dimension. The sentiment was made on the computer.

I am entering this into the following challenges
Cards4Men - masculine and autumn
Paperplay Challenges - brown and cream

Spotty Birthday

I seem to be making a lot of mens cards at the moment. This one uses the same stamp as before and some fab dotty paper from my scrap box. I teamed it up with some turquoise and pearlescent black cardstock for this simple card. I added some faux stitching and the sentiment was made on the computer.

Do You Remember?

A lot of people commented on how they remembered the old Ford Anglia car in my last card , and here's another, the Mark 1 Ford Escort. My hubby had a red one of these as his first car and it brings back memories of our courting days! lol
This is his birthday card. The image is from google and I have made the background using two different stamps, black ink , red ink and clear embossing powder. The sentiment was made on the computer. I just matted and layered it all up on some red and black card.

70th Birthday card

This was a challenge! Two cards in one - The client wanted one card but it was for her Dad and her children's Grandad. I found the image on google and printed it out twice at different sizes. I matted and layered onto some red card. The sentiments were made on the computer and just matted onto some red card as well. I made up a little mini card and added it to the front. The little closure keeps it shut and there is room inside for the grandchildren to sign.

Christmas Card Swap Kit.

This is the card I made for A Christmas Card Swap on the docrafts site. You have to make a card and then send it along with the same papers and embellishments you used on it to a partner. They then use what you have sent to make a card, open up yours and see how you both have done. It's nice to see how your partner uses the materials to make her card. I have used a santa in slippers decoupage sheet which someone sent me last year, along with some nestie circles ,a few free download papers and a Christmassy ribbon. I made the sentiment on the computer

Flower Card

For this card I used a sketch from a challenge but I can't remember where I found it to enter it!!lol
The grid paper is the reverse of the floral and I love the colours in it. The stamp is one I bought off ebay and I get a great deal of use out of it. I have stamped it in black, the sentiment and butterfly are also stamped and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I added a criss cross of fine black ribbon to the bottom of the flower matt and a white organza ribbon to finish. A simple card but very effective I think.

Boy's Birthday cards

I had no mojo whatsoever whenever I sat down at the last minute to make these two cards for an 11 year old boy.
This image is a freebie from Kerryjo's site which I coloured with promarkers. I printed it twice and then decoupaged up the jacket and the boots. I also used black thread to sew the laces on the boots and left the ends trailing. The papers are just from my scrap box and the sentiments were printed on the computer.

The next one is a quick easel card using an image from Google of Torres. I layered it up on some blue, silver and red card. The sentiment was made on the computer and cut using quickcutz star dies and the other was just layered onto some card. The backing paper was a free download.

Wow! What a surprise!

Just logged on this morning and found to my absolute surprise and delight that I have been given my blog award! Thank you so much to Tricia for awarding it to me. We were partners in a recent swap. Now there are a few things I have to do,

1. Thank the person who gave me the Award
2. Put the award on my blog
3. List three things I like about myself
    1. I never give up and will keep on trying till I succeed!

    2. I make a fab Sunday Dinner!

    3. I have a great hobby that I can share and
enjoy with others at home and on the net.

  4. Post a picture I love
This is a recent photo of my grandson Ryan, I think it shows his lovable mishievious personality
       really well.

     5.   Pass the reward to 5 other people.  This is a hard one as there are so many great blogs out there

Dawny At PinkPiggy - always great sketches
Kerry at Aloadofoldpickle - fab cards ideas
Kathleen at Kookaburracrafts - great variety of styles
Lizzie at Lizzyscraftyplace - great blog with lots of inspiration
Nic at Coopsclutteredcorner - who always comments on my blog without fail

Thanks once again Tricia for awarding me this award.

Memories Book

I have been working a memory book for a friend at work. Her Polish friend is going back to Poland to look after her paretnts and she wanted a wee keepsake for her. I have used the DCWV Citrus paper pack, along with some turquoise cardstock throughout. I made some of the flowers , the rest are K&Co. I have added some journalling spaces so it can be made really personal. I used the Bind It All to put the book together. A lot of lovely different coloured ribbons were added to the spine. I hope she likes it.

I apologise for the quality of the photos - haven't mastered the editing out of the backgrounds yet and had to take them in a hurry before I delivered the book.
