Wedding Day Wishes

This card was a comission for a - shall we say a more mature couple - who are getting married. I've had this lovely background paper for ages and decided to use it. It looks very shiny  in the pics but it is in fact a very subtle pattern it's just the way the light is hitting it. The only request was that it had a bit of blue in it and I think this blue along with the silver of the fronds and the sparkly glitter glue gives a wintery feel to the card. The flowers are Tim Holtz tattered flowers which I stamped over in China Blue distress ink. I hope they like it.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

A cute little tree and birdie stamp - stamped and then embossed with a clear embossing powder - layered onto a few nestie diecut shapes and added some bling with some gems. The paper is Echo Park - love the colours of this - the stripe is the reverse of the floral. I like this layout too and will use it again.

Card Class - Week 5 - Christmas Songs!

This week we made a couple of cards - the first one a distressed Christmas card featuring O Christmas Tree
music and a fab layered Christmas tree - the second a cool dude -Rudolf the red nosed reindeer with his glittery red nose and shiny black shades. Here are my samples -

Isn't this the most fab Christmas stamp - I think he looks a bit like Scooby Doo! lol

Days Gone By!

I got this stamp last week and I love it - it will get a lot of use - I love the vintagey feel of days gone by it evokes- when men were very snappy dressers. I stamped in distress inks and embossed onto a cream card - I've kept this one quite clean looking but this stamp just calls out for distressing and inking around the edges- next time lol

This week we made a centre step card and a gift wallet that could be used for a gift card or money.
I forgot to take some pics of the class but one of my ladies kindly (?- you know who you are - lol) took a few when she spotted my camera but unfortunately they are all of me - so here are my samples and a couple of  pics of me hard at work - if you can call it work!

Another Competition Entry

This was my entry into the cardmaker of the Year Competition for the Madiera Category. Have you ever made a card that you don't want to part with? This is one of those - I loved making it and was really pleased with the outcome. I used Personal Impressions stamp and embroidered on the flowers on the machine.  I also ripped a piece from the corner and laced it up with thread. The papers are Bo Bunny Jasmine range.
