Congratulations - Baby Boxed Card

I had a very productive day yesterday and got a few cards made. This is a commissioned baby card which I have made as a trifold and put it in a decorative box. The image is from PC Crafter - Belly Button Babies - and I printed it several times and decoupaged it. The papers are doodlebug and I teamed them with some pink and lemon cardstock. The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch and all the flowers and leaves are punched out as well. I added a few little hearts and some pearls to finish. The ribbon with the little bows on I got from a local craft shop - isn't it gorgeous!

Cardmaking Class One

Well I have completed my first cardmaking class and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a lovely group of 9 ladies of all ages and a good time was had by all ( I hope lol). We made two cards each, like the ones below. These are my sample cards and the ones I made on the night to demonstrate. I forgot to get a pic of the ladies with their cards but I will try to remember to do that next week. These are the two cards I designed for them to make on their first night.

The ladies hard at work.

A Picture of Concentration!

Now have to get my thinking cap on for next weeks class

Card Kit Swap

I take part in a swap on the docrafts forum - A card kit swap where you make up a card, put the same elements you have used in a separate bag and post to your partner. The card you have made is not to be opened until the recipent has made her card using your components. It's a great way to see how others use their crafty stuff and you can learn lots of new ideas. I swapped with  Carol - aka CrossStitchQueen  - this month. Carol's card is on the right.

Lily of the Valley Valentine

Another beautiful Lily of the Valley image from their Cute Squares range. I found these papers in one of my many boxes - I have had them for ages and the colours match with the little ones clothes. A few squares of matting and layering and one of my new nesties - lace edged square. I like this nestie shape but have to say I'm not too keen on some of the others I bought - beaded ovals and circles. The hearts are cut from the paper and distressed slightly around the edges and then I used some Stickles glitter glue on them.

Love Grows!

I got some Lily of the Valley stamps and some of these fab Cute Squares in their Love and Romance range. These are great for cards when you haven't the time to colour the images your self. The paper is a free download and I used some red cardstock along with it. The border is a Martha Stewart punch. I punched out the heart nad overstamped it and then embossed. It's lovely and shiny but doesn't look it in the pics - I'm rubbish at taking pics lol!!

Welcome Granddaughter

I was asked to make a special card for a lady to welcome her first granddaughter. This is a trifold card made by joining two 6x6 square cards together. The image is a digital download- Belly button babies from PC Crafter. The papers were in my stash and I think they might be Doodlebug.
Sentiments and verse were made on the computer. I punched out some flowers and leaves and embellished them with some distress ink, stickles glitter glue and pearls. I also added a little heart. I then made a box edging it with my Martha Stewart punch. I am very pleased with the way this turned out - the box looks so pretty.

Happy Birthday!

One of those dreaded male cards which we all love to do lol.  This is a Tim Holtz stamp that I stamped and embossed in black ink and then  distressed with some china blue, lipstick red and pine needles distress inks. I also distressed the edge with and inked with frayed burlock. The dotty paper is from S.E.I. and is called Spring Blossom. I also used several shades of purple bazzil cardstock and some card candy from Craftworks cards. The sentiment was made on the computer.
